WORKSHEET CORNER SYMBOL & CAPTIONS
Throughout this unit, all worksheets in both content areas - English and science - will have a consistent upper-right-hand corner symbol. Both English and science have the same symbol, differentiating the worksheets from past and future unit worksheets while keeping all worksheets for this unit together and reinforcing the interdisciplinary overlap by not differentiating based on discipline. Mostly for organizational purposes, a corner symbol enables easier and quicker binder sorting or folder obtainment. The header symbol for this unit is a recycling sign, representative of one of the unit's major themes: interconnectedness.
The varying captions next to the cross-curricular symbol, however, enable the worksheets in the unit to be differentiated by content area. The cross-curricular symbol and the content area-specific captions are displayed below:

WORKSHEET TITLE FONTS
Handouts for each content area in this unit - English and science - will be differentiated based on constant font style for their titles. This enables quick-glance sorting for organization. Fonts are identified and displayed below:
The worksheets that not discipline-specific - like the anchor charts for the reading strategies and literacy activities employed in both English and science - do not use either of the content area-specific fonts, subtly and visually reinforcing their relevance to both classes.
